On 9th October 2021, the Chavara Cultural Centre, Delhi was solemnly blessed and inaugurated at CMI Bhawan, Hari Nagar, marking a historic milestone in its mission to promote peace, harmony, and cultural interaction in the national capital. The inauguration coincided with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Chavara Cultural Centre, Kochi (established in 1971), symbolising continuity of vision and renewed commitment. The Centre was blessed by Rev. Dr. Thomas Chathamparambil CMI, Prior General, and formally inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The distinguished gathering included eminent dignitaries such as Justice Kurian Joseph, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India; Shri Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary, CPM; Shri Alphons Kannamthanam, Member of Rajya Sabha; Shri Hibi Eden, Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose (IAS), Member of National Commissions; Shri Subu Rahman (IAS), Director, Railway Board; and several other national leaders, educationists, media representatives, and interfaith personalities. Church leaders who graced the occasion included Rev. Dr. Josey Thamarasser CMI, Rev. Dr. Maria Charles SDB, Rev. Dr. Paul Moonjely, Rev. Dr. Martin Mallath CMI, and Rev. Fr. Biju Vadakel CMI, who released the official logo of the Centre. Religious and interfaith representatives such as Rabbi Ezekiel Isaac Malekar, Dr. A. K. Merchant (Baha’i Community of India), and Mr. Shereyar D. Vakil (Zoroastrian community) also participated, reflecting the Centre’s inclusive character. In their addresses, dignitaries emphasized that India’s true strength lies in unity in diversity and affirmed the Centre’s crucial role in fostering dialogue, national integration, and peaceful coexistence. The gathering also acknowledged the visionary leadership and tireless efforts of Fr. Paul Achandy CMI and Fr. Thomas Cherukara CMI in establishing the Chavara Cultural Centre in Delhi. The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Rev. Fr.
