Chavara Cultural Centre, Delhi, in collaboration with the Chavara International Center for Indian and Inter-religious Studies (CICIIS), California, organized a significant International Interfaith Conference at St. Mary’s Church, Sacramento, under the theme “Journeying Together to the Destination: Scope and Challenges in the Light of Different Faith and Traditions in the World.” The conference brought together leaders from diverse world religions, scholars, and secular voices to engage in meaningful dialogue on global peace and shared human values.

The event was solemnly inaugurated by Most Rev. Bishop Reynaldo Bersabal, Auxiliary Bishop of Sacramento, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized the urgent need for interreligious collaboration in fostering harmony in today’s world. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Josey Thamarassery CMI, Vicar General, who spoke on the Church’s commitment to dialogue, unity, and global fellowship.

The conference was further enriched by the presence of distinguished Guests of Honour, representing various faith traditions: Mr. Josh Davidson from the Bahá'í Faith; Mr. Narinderpal Hundal representing Sikhism; Mr. Salem Ammar representing Islam; and Shri Easan Katir representing Hinduism. Each shared valuable reflections from their respective traditions, highlighting the universal principles of peace, justice, compassion, and coexistence.

The event featured vibrant cultural performances, including a fusion dance presentation symbolizing unity in diversity, along with dynamic panel discussions that encouraged open exchange of ideas. The gathering fostered new global partnerships and strengthened the Centre’s international role in promoting peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding.
